Christmas in Colombia
We completed on the final project here in Colombia (and of the year) in Bogota. Over the two months here, we worked with around 500 children and families.

We have delivered Christmas parties and presents to around 500 children and their families across 4 communities in the centre and on the outskirts of Bogota.
These kids grow up in communities with high rates of drug trafficking, kidnapping, extortion and gang violence. We partnered with IMIC and Grupo Positivo to deliver celebrations in these neighbourhoods. These organisations work in these communities throughout the year, supporting the children in their nutrition and education, and working within these families to bring sustainable change.
These gifts and parties served as a celebration for all that the community achieved throughout the year, as well as motivation to continue to enrol in the programmes in the future.

This year Step Forward has worked with over 1000 children across four countries in Latin America.
We have learnt so much about project management across various contexts, and greatly improved in Spanish and my cultural understanding of the countries we visited. We have also met so many incredible people out in Latin America, back home in the UK, and in the US.
Thank you to those who have supported Step Forward financially, and those who have personally encouraged us. And a special thank you to all those we have partnered with in Latin America. You all form a big part of everything we have achieved this year.
We look forward to building on the relationships, experience and momentum gained this year, and hope to reach even greater numbers of children and families living in slums and social peripheries in Latin America next year.
